Summary:

Honestly, i did not know that this anime was a side story. I am kinda feel that most side stories are much more interesting as compared to the main story. Like how To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is a side story of To Aru Majushi no Index. I did not watch the main story, so i am not going to compare them, would most likely watch the 50 episode some times later.
I actually really like this show. I really love their fighting scenes. But I think that they did not really make full use of the fact that they are espers for the fighting scenes. The only real action was probably in the first part of the first episode. Other then that this anime was probably more about the past of Hyoubu. The only one thing that I do not like is how this anime is kind of confusing for people who did not watch the main story. For this anime, they totally did not explain some of the esper's powers, so half the time i was wondering what their powers is, and to make it even harder, it really seems like most of them have more then one power, so it was hard to determine what their power is. Also, in the anime, the did mention some thing about the levels of the esper in episode one. But after that, they totally did not mention anything about the levels of the esper later, so the anime seemed kind of unbalanced, but then of course, there is a possibility that they did mention them in the main story.
I think the huge difference between to aru kagaku no railgun and this anime is that you can watch railgun without watching the main story, and still not get confused. While, because this anime is more linked to the main story, they most probably assumed that most of the people watching this anime would have watched the main story, so there are alot of things unmentioned in this anime.
The one thing i probably like most about this anime is that they know how to keep the suspense and make the anime interesting even at the most boring times. The pace of the anime is also very good, though I do think that it ended a little to quick.

Not a very nice art. I dont really like the way they draw men hair. The eyes are probably the best drawn in this anime.Their outfits may look a little to edgy for the overall image of some people.
