Personal ratings: 4
This anime was something unusual and unique. Like Lucky Star, this anime is about things that happens in everyday life (mostly for kids and adults).
This anime do not have must talking, the characters portrays they feelings mainly through their actions and expression.

This anime would probably make the older people think back on the days where they take care of their young child or about their younger days. For me, it kind of got me thinking about how i was when i was younger, even though nothing in the anime seemed to have occurred to me.
I think in this anime, we get to see more of the japan culture and understand our parents more. I loved this anime so much i had to watch the whole anime six times, and still, i never got bored of it. I think it has something to do with the lesser number of dialogues.

The anime may been a little too simple, but they did add a little complexity in the anime to keep it more interesting. Though that complexity may be a little absurd at some times (like the grandpa having a little kid when he was like 70+). There was also some part about the story that kind of felt incomplete (like if Rin was really the grandpa's kid), because in some parts of the anime make it seem like this statement was a little false, and the grandpa may have did it to protect Rin. I'm not sure.

There is this odd calming effect to this anime.
The only thing that I think was lacking in this anime was probably the portray of the emotions. There wasn't really much emotions felt while I was watching this anime. At times where it could have been really sad, I barely felt anything. I'm not sure if it's because of the really mild setting.

Art ratings: 3
Cute drawings for the kids and all but the most important main character looks weird. But all in all I think that this simple drawing really goes well with the story line.
