Name: You and Me 君と僕 Kimi to Boku

Seasons: 1 & 2
Status: Completed
Episode: 12 / 13 each
Release Date (eng subs): -

Summary:
This series takes you through the daily life of a four really close childhood friends, who knows each other since elementary school, and a transfer student. It shows their ups and downs, and problems that most high school student face.

Summary by: AngelaAgness

Personal Ratings: 3
The anime is a little calming, because there is sudden no ups and downs (in a good way). The show goes slow; for some parts its good because it the show actually goes quite deep in, and they really slowly take you through the whole process, so it's not hard to understand. Where else for some parts, it's a little too slow, and there are some redundant parts that makes the show seem even more slower and draggy.

I felt that they introduced the new guy too early (like episode 3). I think that even though he has the most parts in the show, they didn't give us like enough time to get use to the childhood friends group. So it's like we can't really tell the difference between them as a group and them with the new member of the group, and how the new character actually change the group.
I also thought that because there is so many characters that they focus one (like there is not one character they focus on), I felt that there was not enough time for each of the characters; I wanted more.

I loved the references and comparison to cats throughout the show. Really cute and creative.

Art Ratings: 2.5

Not really nice, no depth or dimension. Just enough to keep me watching.

Divergent

Image from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divergent_(film)

Name: Divergent

Release Date (in Singapore): 20 March 2014
Watched on: 22 March 2014

Summary:
In a futuristic Chicago, people are divided into five distinct factions: Abnegation (selfless), Amity (kind), Candor (honest), Erudite (intelligent) and Dauntless (brave), based on their personalities. Beatrice "Tris" Prior discovers that she is Divergent, meaning she fits into more than one faction, and soon uncovers a sinister plot brewing in her seemingly perfect society

Personal Ratings: 3.5
I was actually looking forward to the show, because the trailer just looked so good. I think most trailers are like there to kill the show. I thought there would be more action scenes.

I totally loved tris's (or Beatrice) acting. Brought tears to my eyes several times. I think she cries effortlessly.
I like all the scenes that portrays her acting skills, but I kind of find that they focus way to much on her, as if the other characters doesn't really matter.

I think for the part where they had to choose which division they want to be, they should have actually like tell us clearly which bowl was for which division, because I was quite confused which was which, especially since they didn't really let us see the symbols for the different division.

Also about the part where her parents died and she killed her friend, I think that there should be more emotional part there, because it kind of seemed like they just fast forward that part. Spent too much time on the first part of the show.
I also thought that because divergents were suppose to be really rare, there shouldn't be a lot of people that way, at the most one or two in every generation. So I was quite disappointed when there was actually another guy in dauntless that was a divergent. (though it was necessary to tell us what will happen if they were found out).

As usual, I'm not satisfied with the ending, but I can't wait for the next 2 more movies. Overall great story line.

Personal Ratings: 3.5
Honestly, this show can get a little scary in some parts. It's quite a little dark piece of anime.
I liked the story line. I think you don't really find any anime that focuses on Yandare that much. I feel that the story was practically made for Yandare. Gives us (otakus) a lot more understand for Yandares.

I like the depth of this show. Great twists in the show, really quite unexpected. Though there are parts where I thought they should have gave us more time to take in what's happening, because of the sudden twists, and let the viewers take in the shock a little bit. Because some times they change the pace so fast, there is not enough time to be shocked.

I actually like the way they use the other supporting characters, especially for Akise and Minene. Loved their background story, their relationships and the way they contributed to the anime.
However I think that for some of the other character, they didn't tell us enough about them. Like I wanted to know more about how they actually got the diaries they have. But because they got killed so fast, it kind of felt as if they were kind of useless, and didn't really contributed to the whole anime.

Didn't think that there was a need for those obscene parts; but I was glad it was played in the way that, people remember the anime for the plot and the Yandare, not those scenes.

I was kind of upset that nearing the end, it got kind of boring (which was why I actually stopped watching). I felt that there was that lack of excitement in the ending, which was a deep compared to the continuous excitement in the front parts of the show.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

Name: Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoshitsu The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

Anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Release Date (in Japan): 6 February 2010

Summary:
Continuation from the series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. In this movie, the world changes, but only Kyon retains his memories of the past world. He goes through a lot to find a way back into the real world, but was faced with the huge decision if he wanted to stay or go back. Which one was for the better, which one was for the worst.

Summary by: AngelaAgness

Personal Ratings: 3.5
It's sort of a continuation from the main anime series, it makes the whole anime series feel more completed, especially with Kyon sorting out his feelings about Haruhi (as in if he found her irritating or not).

Finally we get to see Nagato with expressions; though I don't really like that side of her. Sometimes in the show, I also felt that there were moments where she was irritating me; even though she's like my bias in the whole show. I think they kind of went over the top with the "shy girl" image.

Quite a disappointment because it was really totally about Kyon, there wasn't much about Haruhi, even though she was suppose to be the main focus. I thought they could have added a little of Haruhi's perspective during the time after she met with "John Smith". Though that would kind of mean breaking the consistency, because throughout the whole anime series, it was always and only form Kyon's point of view; he was the main character and the narrator.

Bad side; you have to watch the whole of The Melanchony of Haruhi Suzumiya before you can watch this movie. It's more of a continuation than a stand alone movie, because they input a lot of information and happenings from the anime series into the movie.
Good side; because it's also in the manga, everything flows. I know most movies, when I watch it, most of them seem really foreign because it does not really like blend into the whole anime setting. Like for One piece, Naruto and Inuyasha, their movies can be watched as a stand a lone thing.

Status: Completed
Episode: 28
Release date (eng subs): -

Summary:

However, upon meeting Haruhi Suzumiya, he quickly finds out that it is the supernatural that she is interested in—aliens, time travelers, and espers among other things. As a result, the SOS Brigade is formed, a club which specializes in all that is the supernatural.

Much to his chagrin, Kyon, along with the silent bookworm, Yuki Nagato, the shy and timid Mikuru Asahina, and the perpetually smiling Itsuki Koizumi, are recruited as members. The story follows the crazy adventures that these four endure under their whimsical leader, Haruhi. The story is based on the light novels by Nagaru Tanigawa.

Personal Ratings: 3
Being an anime that is separated into two season, both 14 episodes each, it's really a weird episode number. Usually I see 12 or 13 episode, rarely 14.
A must to see the movie after watching all the episodes, it completes the whole story on the Christmas party that Haruhi was suppose to hold.

Quite a unique anime, one that comprises of main stream battle with slice of life. It's really one that you wouldn't really see in most animes. Even in animes that comprises of this two genre; like Katekyo Hitman Reborn, usually focuses on the two genre separately.

Honestly, some parts of the show is really hard to understand the large information they are feeding us, so to understand this anime completely is close to impossible. This is especially so when Nagato speaks really quickly (which, btw, I find super cool), and the complex style Koizumi talks in (he keeps going on in circles).

I actually like how Kyon actually narrates the whole show, he really makes the show a lot more funnier; especially when he adds in his serious reactions and comments.

The bad side about this is that some times you can't really tell if he is talking or is narrating. Most of the times you can tell because there is a difference in the tone he uses, but there is some moments where you can't really tell.

The thing that I found really disappointing is that there is no main purpose of the show. Even until the end of the show I found that it ended abruptly, and there was no true purpose in the show. Though each and every incident and problems were really interesting, there is just thing huge disappointment when the show ends just like that.

I'm guessing this is the part where Kyoani switched the type of art.

Personal Ratings: 3.5
I watched this anime without subs, so there may be a lack of understanding in the content, which is may not happen if I had watched it in subs. So this review may be a little incomplete.

Very unique anime. I don't think there are much animes that are similar to this anime.
This anime shows a lot of the way of life in countries such as south america and Brazil. A serious and realistic work.

This anime is by episodes, each situation or cases is finished between 1 to 2 episodes, which is very short. So I think it's actually a lot more interesting if you watch it per episode, and not one shot.

In the first half of the anime, there is a consistent pace of the anime, where by they show either Mitchiko or Hatchin's point of view (Usually in Hatchin's point of view). However, you can see the change in the anime in the 2nd half of the anime, where they started to show point of views from different characters; at the same point of time.

I also think that there is a lack of link between the episodes. Even though they are trying to find Hiroshi, I find that he doesn't play a huge role in the anime at all. He was only talked about by others; people whom he had met. But in the end, there wasn't much information about him at all. All that happened was they met, and than after awhile he left again. So I'm quite confused as to what kind of guy he is, because it seemed to me that the Hiroshi that Mitchiko knew was different from what he is now.
There are also episodes in the show which didn't quite make sense (like the one about the dude pulling out a random fish from Mitchiko's stomach, and claims that he had cured her), episodes that strayed from the reality of the show, and episodes that had no link to finding Hiroshi.

I actually like the fighting part for this anime, especially the ones with guns and Satoshi. The way he fought in the last few episodes, was really cool and logical.

I actually like the Voice actors. Very unique voice selection for this show, the two main seiyuus are actresses, with no voice acting background. So I actually get to enjoy the refreshing new voices that I've never heard before.

Art Ratings: 4
I like the art. I think it's really pretty; I'm not sure why, but it's very different from the usual anime style now a days. The variety of way they desgin each and every character is great, because it really shows the personality of each character, and also the differences between each characters, so everyone of them is actually quite memorable.

I actually wanted to read the manga, but than I saw the anime came out. Honestly, I was quite disappointed with the first episode. I thought it was kind of boring, which kind of led me to think that it would not be nice. Honestly, I'm super glad I trusted my instincts and continued watching.

This show is so freaking nice; the moment I think of this anime, it really gives me to goose bumps (yep, it's that good).

The anime has actually taught me more about human desires and 'sins'; quite an in depth content on this area, especially since it's about the dead. There is a good balance between the 'dark' and 'good' side of the story line.
Hoping that this anime last long.

Comments on recent episode:
kind of disappointed in the last episode. I felt that it was a rush. The arc about Yukine was such a good and completed arc, when you compare it to this arc, it kind of looks like this arc lacks emphasis.

- Updates coming soon-

Art Ratings: 3.5
The drawing looks nice, but some times it can also look a little off.
No consistency in the way they draw or design the characters. Most characters follow the current trend of drawing, but some of the girls actually looked a little towards the olden drawing. Doesn't really bring out the nature of the anime, especially since there is a split between the old and the new drawing. But it may be what they are looking for, since some of the characters were suppose to have been there since really long ago.
Love the colours for Yukki.

I think this was quite a refreshing season, because there is not much connection with the manga.

I liked how they showed some of the other demons in the world, because in the manga, it seems that only Sebastian is a demon, and there were no others out there.
There were also quite a bit of twist in the anime; which makes the ending part a lot more interesting.

I liked to see the fight between the two 'perfect' butlers, but I think it would have been much nicer if they actually showed the Merlin, Bran and Finny fighting with the other 3 demons (the triplets);

Though the starting was a bit hard to understand; because there was a confusion between the ending of the season 1. A little bit too sadistic, I find. Some of Caude's and Alois's actions were kind of a mystery to me.
I'm quite confused as to why Sebastian would accept being Ciel's butler for life, even though Ciel is now a demon and Sebastian can no longer take his soul.

Personal Ratings: 3

I first read the manga before the anime came out. So I was kind of comparing it with what I have read, so it may be a little harsh, and inaccurate.

First of all, I wasn't really satisfied with the voice actors. But I kind of got used to most of them over time. However, there are some that I just cannot stand, and I feel it's kind of a disappointment, from what I was imagining while reading the manga.

I also felt that there were parts where could be expressed better, or should have more emphasis.
I didn't really like how they showed the true identity of the 3 other helpers in the mansion; as compared to the manga, it didn't gave me the hype, and it didn't really showcase the coolness of these 3 people.  Throughout the show, really didn't give me any hype, so it was kind of disappointing.  The way they introduced Undertaker as a Shinigami was also quite a disappointment; unlike the manga, it didn't really gave me the "omg he is a Sinigami?" kind of feels. I'm not sure if it's because I already knew that since the beginning.
I also feel that the anime actually stained some characters; like the queen, or Lau. Cause in the manga, they were suppose to be somewhat good people.

Some of the few things that I liked about the anime was the music they play. Very classical, matches the dark atmosphere in the anime. I also quite like the last few episodes of the show; like it shows how all the cases in the anime overlap with each other.

Art Ratings: 3

Well, again, as compared to the manga, not very good drawing. I feel that it lacked that kind of Sophistication, and beauty. Never the less, still quite nice.

Personal Ratings: 3.5
I think that this manga started quite shaky. It's quite cliche; main stream shoujo manga.

One thing that I didn't like about this manga is that, when the character is no longer of any importance, it is forgotten. It may seem really normal, but I feel that if the character plays a major role in the manga (like main dude?) I think it's a little wrong to just forget about him just because he is not with the main girl. So the instance when he is suddenly shown again in the manga, after a long time, it just gives me a very weird feeling.
They should try to write more about other character's perspective, and not only on just the main girl's perspective.

I guess what I liked about this manga was the characters. Not one of them irritated me as I read the manga. In fact, I think I can relate to the characters. Their personalities are all very different, which makes it a lot easier to recognize and like each and everyone of them. It also makes it easier for the readers to understand their feelings, because we wouldn't get mixed up with the similarities.

I'm just hoping that there wouldn't be a lot of mind changing in the later part of the manga. I've seen many shoujo mangas where the girl would always change her mind so many times, it's irritating, and makes it seem like it's not worth reading.

Comments on recent chapter:
Hmm..... Not a very nice chapter.

Art Ratings: 4
Love the art.
I like how they always draw the side view. Even though the proportions are a little wrong, I still like the art.

I feel that the art is not stiff, and a good balance of sharp and soft lines. If only they added more thick lines into the art, i think it would be perfect.

Status: Completed
Episode: 22
Release Date (for eng subs): Every Monday

Summary:

Aladdin, Alibaba, and Morgiana go their separate ways after spending time together in Sindria making new friends and preparing for what is coming. The story now begins to focus on Aladdin as he heads to Magnostadt in the hopes of learning how to become a truly powerful Magi.

Personal Ratings: 3.5

This is more like the 2nd arc to magi, than a 2nd season. More characters comes in, and the story is more developed into the the true purpose of this whole anime. The story gets nicer from here, as there are more action scenes, and more interesting story line. More truths are also revealed. (Especially more about the Magi's, though the next season will seriously concentrate a lot on the history of Magi.)

Though I think this story fluctuates a lot. Some times it can be really nice, but some times it can be a little dry; filled with facts and talking only.
They really stick with the manga, though the progress it faster. However, like Kuroko no Basuke, I find that some parts, they just follow the anime, without trying to use animation to their advantage to add more impact into the anime. But that only happened to some parts, so it doesn't really feel like the story lack any impact.

Summary:
2nd Season of Silver Spoon

Personal Ratings: 4
I really liked the first season. This isn't really a 2nd season, but more of a continuation of the first season, you can't really see a difference between the seasons. But if you ask me if there is any difference between the two seasons, I would say that the first season is a lot on cultivation, livestock and a lot of farming stuffs. However, for the 2nd season, it shows a lot more problems, emotions and the city life.

I really like how it's more in depth when it comes to the feelings and problems in the show. Unlike the first season where they focus more on telling the viewers more about cultivation. I totally liked that small part where Hachiken actually meets his old friends. I really think that that it was a good way to see the difference between someone from the country area and some one from the city. It also shows how much Hachiken has changed from the beginning to now.

I feel that I want a 3rd season. I still feel that they should completely show stuff like Mikage, Kobunga, and the changes that would happen in the 2nd year. I'm not sure if they would come out with a 3rd season, because from the way it had ended, it seems highly unlikely that they would come out with a 3rd season.

I actually liked the starting part of the show, where they make use of the effects to make people focus on other passengers that may be suspicious in the show. However, I think that may also have lead to people finding out about the two criminals.
In the first part, even though the 2 criminals interacted with the main character, they didn't use the special effects. So it kind of seemed suspicious that those people that were so much more closely related, didn't get that kind of emphasis.

I felt that the whole show was really quite intense, and thrilling (since i thought that the main character was going to start randomly shooting people).
I think the development of the show was really good. It really made me tear at one point, it was really quite touching and sad.

I didn't like how they showed the small girl, but didn't really have much of a role for her, and in the middle of the movie, she was kind of forgotten. It seems like they only placed emphasis on her, when they were saying that the main character lost his young daughter and what not. However, I think that they should actually show that the main character is always at a constant look out for this girl throughout the whole incident.

I think they should have also showed the parts as to how the killer actually carried out the killings.
Throughout the show, I was really expecting a really good technique that the killer used to kill all those people. (especially since i watch Detective Conan, and there was also an episode about the killing incident on an airplane. In episode 162). So it was kind of disappointing when it wasn't anything unique. But I actually got to learn a lot of stuff about airplanes. Really liked how they made use of the things and the structure of the airplanes to make this work.
