Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu バカとテストと召喚獣

Status: Completed
Episode: 13
Release date (for eng subs): -

Summary:
The story centers around Akihisa Yoshii, the "baka" of the title. His academy rigidly divides up the student body into classes based on the results of tests. The prodigies are in the A class with reclining seats complete with air conditioning, but Akihisa is in F class, the lowest rung of the school ladder which is furnished only with low, decrepit tables and worn-out straw tatami mats. A girl named Mizuki Himeji is actually one of the smartest girls in Akihisa's sophomore year, but she had a fever on test day and was pigeonholed into the F class. Besides Mizuki (who Akihisa secretly adores), the F class also has Yuuji Sakamoto, the class president who has been Akihisa's friend and partner-in-crime since the freshman year.
The school happens to have developed experiments to summon fantasy creatures, and Akihisa decides to rally F class to take on the higher-tiered classes and seize their perks. The F class uses the summoned creatures in an all-out battle for school supremacy.Summary from: http://myanimelist.net/anime/6347/Baka_to_Test_to_Shoukanjuu

Personal Ratings: 2.5
Not the type of genre I like, the really baka (idiot) and brainless comedy. Though, I must admit that there are one or two occasion where I actually laughed.
What I really hated the most was how exaggerated the jokes were. (some of you might find this the charm of the anime). It really acutally reminds me of Sket Dance. The only difference is that Sket Dance is more realistic and has a "normal" part to it. (especially the part where they showed the main character's past! Totally LOVE it.) There were quite a few things that bothered me throughout the anime. I don't really liked how after it was exposed that Yuuji was a prodigy, his scores did not match those of an A class student. There was also not enough suspense and curiosity inserted into this part of the story. Which means they actually missed their chance of pulling in more people into watching the anime. The other thing that really bothered me throughout the WHOLE anime was the fact that they never showed the guy side of Hideyoshi, even though i have been waiting since episode one for them to show!! I think the one huge mistake they did was probably the fact that each of the character's personality seemed to be on equal levels of importance in the anime. Even though i know each of the 6 characters are important, there should be more emphasis on the character whom they want to stand out. For the episode about Yuuji and Kirishima, I really thought that they should have told us about why Yuuji suddenly so called pretend to be dumb?
At first when I watched this show, I really thought that it would be filled with study and taking test, with comedy in it. But, to my disappointment  the only test i saw all of them took was the first test to determine their classes. I really thought that they should put in more scenes of them taking test and their lessons.
What I liked about the anime was most probably the fact that the idea is unique. Really liked how they showed about the battle using test scores as points. But I also thought that it kind of back fired because they did not put this idea into good use. (will talk more about this in the review of the second season). The summon beings were also really cute! I kinda liked those episode where the field was in testing and when summoned, they tell the true feelings of their owners and when the time where they came out, showed the owner's focal point.

Art Ratings: 2.5
A little to edgy for the eyes and the hair. But i really liked the colours they used on the hair. Though it really brought out the personality of the characters. Liked how they drew Akihisa and kota's (pervert ninja) hair.
